Electric Tech: The Most Trivial Criticism Ever of the Nanlite Pavoslim

This year I added some Nanlite Pavoslim lights to my inventory.  I got 2-120Cs which are 1x2', and 2-240Ls which are 1x4.  These are great lights that check most of the boxes of what I am looking for in a panel light: they are light weight; easy to setup; the build quality seem excellent; they are RGBWW lights with excellent color quality; and they have built-in CRMX for wireless control.  Other than some small annoyances, my only criticism of these light is the lack of an X-Y mode.  I often find this is the best way to match color.  I'm hoping that Nanlite may add this someday in a firmware update.

My other criticisms are trivial.  One is the cheap power cord which is not flexible as a rubber coated cord.  It is not great, but certainly usable.  The other criticism is even more trivial but it was annoyance every time I used these lights.  It is the Nanlite Velcro-like cable ties.

The Nanlite Velcro-like cable ties; too curly, too sticky, and hard to use

The ties are too curly and too sticky.  They would stick to everything you don't want.  It was always annoying, fumbling with these ties trying to get them untangled and wrap around the cables.  One day after fighting these terrible cable ties, I realized I could save time and aggravation by replacing the cable ties.  I have replaced the Nanlite cable ties with standard Velcro ties on all of my Pavoslim lights.  The standard Velcro cable ties are so much better!  It is much easier and quicker to unwrap or wrap the cables.  I know it is a trivial thing but it makes working with these lights easier (without the aggravation).

Just a standard Velco cable tie.  So much better!
