There is a universe of lighting rigs out there. One I have been using for years is a Christmas light.
This is a 4x4 frame with Christmas twinkle bulbs. The reflector is Roscoflex.
The one in the picture I've had for years. It is a great source anytime the lighting source is some type of firelight or candles. I've also used it for fashion type work.
The quality of the light is great. It is a very warm, soft, tungsten glow.
I can't take credit for the Christmas light. I first saw it years ago working with Andrew Howell on History Channel shows.
The downside of this rig is it is fragile and not easy to store.
