It's 2024! Happy New Year!
I will not be missing 2023. There were several sad events in my family. Work was slower for everyone with the writers and actors strikes. World events were horrific with the wars in Ukraine and Gaza foremost. It was the hottest year on record as climate change continues to threaten our future.
I'm looking forward to a hopefully better 2024.
Each year I send out new year cards to clients. It's a good way to stay in touch at a time when work is generally slow. Here is my new year card for 2024:
Most of my cards are original ideas, but this is one is not. I had a meme sent to me last year of a fake magazine cover called "Gaffer Weakly". It was cleverly funny. I wish I knew whom to credit but I have no idea of the original source. My apologies to them. Otherwise, everything else is original to my card.
I didn't send out many cards last year. I had planned to. I was gaffing Ethan Hawke's Wildcat this time last year. (It was an awesome movie to work on!) I thought I would have time, but I didn't. I ended up sending out very few cards. Here is my card for last year, 2023:
